1957 GMC Owners

 This truck had 98K miles on it when I purchased it in 1988.  It has been my daily driver since then and currently has 162K miles.  In 1999 I repainted it 97 Honda Black Currant (dark purple) after doing the typical rust repair in the cab corners, hinge pockets, doors and front fenders.
Upgrades include alternator, front disk brakes, dual master cylinder, Old Air A/C, Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, ZR-1 type rear roll pan with backup lights, Sun SuperTach III refaced to match the other instruments, HEI distributor from a '77 400" Pontiac V8, replacing the original "road draft" crankcase ventilation with a PCV system, 15x8" Rally wheels with chrome trim rings and knock-offs, replacing the oil bath air cleaner with a paper filter, replacing the cartridge oil filter system with a spin on filter system from a '77 400" Pontiac V8, removed 2 leafs from the front springs which drops the front end about 2", total replacement of wiring, replacing the "generator" idiot light with an ammeter, replacing the bench seat with a set of bucket seats from an S-10 Chevy pickup, moved the gas tank from the cab to under the bed and replacing the original (rotting) pine wood bed floor and galvanized skid strips with varnished oak and polished stainless steel skid strips.

 Bought my truck in 1993 from a sandblaster in Holland and took it apart. It had a Chevy 283 in it.
I'm putting a 305 chevy with a 350 transmission in it. My biggest treasure is the aeroplane hood ornament which I found on holiday in the US. Hope to restart my restoration this year.

 The truck is a long bed deluxe cab / 347 V8 Hydro Placid Blue + White. Restoration completed 7-15-97 by Leo Brenner. Sold to Rubio Sousa.

 This 1957 is a shortbed  stepside/ small back window truck ,with 347/TriPower Carbs from a 1957 pontiac hitched up to the original truck 4 speed. This is my Fun Runner,I completed this Restoration this past July, in time for the NorthEast Chevy / GMC Truck Show in Wendel Mass and won a 2nd place trophy.

 This truck has been in a barn for 30 years. It does not have the original drivetrain, but has a HO 400, 400 Pontiac combo, all else is orignal on the truck.

 I just bought this truck two weeks ago, it was owned originally by a farmer in Parker Colorado.
I bought it 3-20-04 from someone who had started to restore it, he painted it a custom blue color and did some mechanical repairs.
I have worked for Napa Auto parts for 32 years and now this is my project. I would like to change a few things to make it easier to drive.
I enjoy the challenge!!!

This truck was purchased new by my grandfather in July 1957.It was used for industrial tire repair work[service truck]and it is estimated to have 300,000 miles on the chassis,it was retired from service in 1980 and put in to storage.It was given to me by father,now im restoring it to original condition.What a task, but soon it will be on the road were it belongs.

Truck was remanufactured in circa 1958 as a Klauer Manufacturing "Sno-Go" for the War department. She has a variety of military mods including a Chevrolet 235 six. She is otherwise unmodified. i drive her about 100 miles a day to work and back! Go GMC!

 Hii, this is jim i have questions for you. im trying to put a
347 together. i would like to know where the heater hoses are.
i only found one hook up and, do you know anybody that would
have valve covers and dipstick for the motor. any help you can
be would be appreciated. i found this truck by accident. i was
searching the u.s. and found one seven miles from my house in
a field now im restoring it.

Bought from 2nd owner 1/1/08

Second owner bought it in 1968 and drove it until '74 when the tranny started to slip. He parked it until I bought in last year. it has about 88,000 miles on it. Its is a deluxe 102. the tranny was replace at some  previous time. Going to rebuild it into a nice driver. looking for parts.

All, I bought this 1957 Flatbed from another Texas man that had it for 2-3 yrs. It came from Mena,AR and was owned by another person from AR. I think from Mena also. I would really like to know if this was a flat bed or has it been changed along the way of owners?? I don't know and am hoping if someone may be able to help me with this??? Thanks, 

 I got this for 620 dollars off a kid off craigslist its a big back window and has the dual spare tire set up and  has the hood bird too. 

I purchased this truck last year in america. With a lot of help from my  friend Bob who lives in portland we got it roadworthy and drove it around on our trip over to Bonneville speedweek. I then shipped it back to new Zealand. We have a lot of "silly" rules here and i am just working through these now so i  can get it legal for our roads. It is to be my families every weekend driver. it has already done a load of firewood and a couple other chores. I love it. I belive it to be original.

Just Bought this truck last week, still runs but needs interior and some body work.  Not sure what size engine it is yet.  It's a straight six.

 I bought the truck in December of 2004.  It had been sitting for 20 years behind the owners rental.  He bought it to restore to match his late 50's Corvette, but when poor health hit him he decided to sell it.  No other history is available.  It currently has a 1960 389ci pontiac, but I have a complete 57 GMC 347 to put in it.

Given to me by my Mother-in-Law in 1997. Was a Bell Telephone truck in Covina, California. I'm looking for an owners manual.  If anyone can help with info please notify me-I have used all my contacts and can't find one.
